Gadgets- that wide ranging description of things that make our lives easier, or more fun- as long as we have the gadget with us when we need it and it doesn't break when we try to use it!

1   Link   Multitools
From their site: "What exactly is a multitool? Taken literally, the term could refer to any device which has more than one function, such as a claw hammer or a pencil with an eraser on the opposite end. In reality though, say the word "multitool" and most people visualize a set of folding pliers, with an array of folding blades and screwdrivers fanning out from the handles."

Site includes reviews and opinions.

Crazy flexible light where you need it.

3   Link   Flip-n-drip coffee maker
A bit pricey for a single cup coffee maker, still this is an appealing gadget for that first morning cup of coffee or the little fuss coffee at the end of the day.

4   Link   Tent LED- line light
You've tripped over a tent wire at night haven't you? I think nearly everyone had. This device is wrapped in with your tent cord and automatically turns on when darkness approaches. But it's hard to find, and at about 15 Euros (approx. $30.00) for two, they are a bit pricey, though more suitable for tents than the much cheaper suggestion of the MEC Turtle light.

5   Link   MEC "Turtle Light"
No, not a light for reptiles, this turtle shaped light is cheap and adaptable. You can use it to mark equipment, be seen at night, or add it to your tent cords so they are seen at night. Cheaper for that use (though not as good) than the pricey and hard to get TentLED. http://www.tentled.nl/gb/index.htm

6   Link   Portable Kitchen Sink
Sea to Summit kitchen sink for lightweight camping. I've seen "cheap" portable sinks and haven't been impressed by the reviews. This seems to be better built for just a little more money, about $30.00 USD. (This site list various online retailers, USA) I have not tried it out yet but if anyone of you do, I'd love to hear your opinion of it.

7   Link   Biolite Stove- heat and electricity
From their site:
1.Boils 1 liter of water in 2.5 minutes.
2. Lights quickly and easily
3. Burns twigs, sticks, underbrush, pine cones, pellets, rice husks
4. Folds for easy packing
5. 7.5” Tall X 4.75” Diameter
6• Weighs 1lb 10oz
7.• Charges Cell Phones and LED Lights
-----------------------------------------
Yes, this little 1 person stove uses heat to produce a bit of electricity that powers a built-in fan that improves the internal combustion of the fire you create with a bit of wood. Power can also charge up low voltage devices like cell phones. At the time of this writing, the website was simplistic but I expect you may need to provide a special cable for your phone or other device like MP3 player (which should never come on a camping trip, IMO!).

8   Link   Instant Tents
You throw this tent up in the air and it unfolds and lands set up. At lest that's the idea. How well - or for how long - it works, I couldn't guess. Me, I'd prefer a tent that takes 15 minutes to set up but cleans itself and packs itself into that not-quite-big-enough bag instantly!
