Haliburton Scout Reserve is the largest Scout Camp in Canada. 23 campsites are located around Lake Kennabi. The camp runs eight, one week long programs throughout the summer with several hundred Scouts participating each week. Experienced, fully trained Scouting staff offer programs in canoeing, kayaking, sailing, snorkeling, survival skills, wall climbing, rappelling, archery and rifle ranges.
Equipment and Scouts are initially transported to their campsites by large pontoon boats. On Sunday they are trained in proper canoe handling and provided with canoes and equipment. From that point on everyone is expected to canoe about 1.5 hours per day to and from their activities located around the lake. By the end of the week all Scouts will be quite proficient canoeists J
Additional activities include hiking, swimming, fishing, a star gazing pontoon boat ride, a regatta competition with swimming and canoeing races, badge trading and an end of week campfire for the entire camp.
At the main Hub there is a fully stocked Trading post and Emergency First Aid Centre with both a nurse and doctor in residence. Each campsite is also equipped with an emergency telephone which connects directly to the Hub.
For anyone interested in more information on the programs or the history of the camp please refer to the following website: http://www.gtc.scouts.ca/haliburton/gtc_hsr.asp.

*Due to the nature and length of this camp, parents and youth are required to read and sign the attached Camp Code of Conduct.
