TAPE DRIVES:
The data from the computer is stored in magnetic code, on the tape and retrieved later if it's needed. Usually Tape Drives are used for making backup copies of computer data. They are often too slow to use to read and write (retrieve and store) data, at least for home computer users. However they can store a very large amount of data which means you could keep all of the information on your computer, on a tape drive. However, there are now faster ways to store large amounts of data so tape drives are almost obsolete, useless now, except in companies that use huge computers and even bigger amounts of data.
